    My family and I have visited Hilton Head Island many times, but this trip may be our last.

    Upon arrival, we were pleased with the condo. Everything appeared to be clean and in order.

    My stay was scheduled from Saturday through Tuesday morning. An issue that happened to my grandson caused us to leave Sunday before our time expired. My 10-year old grandson woke up and discovered bugs, first on the comforter, then on the sheets, and finally in his hair. I went to CVS and spoke with the pharmacist and I was recommended to purchase a product for lice. The owner of the property was contacted and was asked if there would be some consideration for leaving the property early. Her response was that she had a firm cancellation policy and requested to know why my guests wanted to leave. My grandson was visibly shaken by the ordeal, which I informed the owner. The owner went on to say that this was the first time this happened in the 4 years she owned the property. She also claimed that the cleaner that was dispatched to change the bedding saw an open package of candy on the nightstand, and garbage which was a false statement because there was no trash bin in the bedroom. The trip was to give my parents, both in their late 80's, and my grandson and his mother, a quick getaway so we could spend time as a family. That was very short-lived. I feel that the owner was not very sympathetic, and slightly accusatory, as if my grandson caused the issue. I wasn't asking for a full refund, but I don't feel that the issue was handled amicably. The experience left my grandson remembering the stay as horrible and does not want to visit Hilton Head Island again.
