Pleasant comfortable pub with nice staff & good food
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The pub was very lively with good quality, traditional pub food - pies, burgers, fish & chips etc.
Some of the decor was tatty. Thexstair carpet was threadbare in places and looked gruppy. Paint on the bannisters worn through. My bathroom was tiny (Pheasant room). The walls were very thin and I could quite clesrly here the TV in the next room. My friend was feeling unwell on the morning of checkout and, when asked if we could checkout an hour later, the staff member we spoke to said it would be an extra £10 per room. Fortunately, he felt a little better by 10am but it felt very mercenary.
