Excellent location. Loved the breakfast basket

Very central location. We had room on the back of property, which was lovely and quiet. A very well equipped room. Had seen some comments about lack of cooked breakfast, but we really enjoyed all that was on offer in the room - lovely selection. All in all, excellent value for money.
For us, the pillows were too big & hard, but that is a personal preference I guess. Given guests are having breakfast in their room, maybe fresh coffee bags would be good instead of instant granules?

Go back to the warm friendly place it was
The location
Having stayed at the Black Hat before and enjoyed it. Unfortunately we were so disappointed this time. We arrived to find the hotel had new owners and there would be no hot food served for breakfast - we should have been notified as we had paid over £150.00 per night. That wasn’t the end of the disappointment, we went out for a lovely meal outside and then arrived back at the hotel to find what i describe as a youth club with a DJ on !! The noise was so bad that we checked out early the next day as we didn’t want to listen to that on the Saturday night !!! I text the number on the key to tell them my disappointment but nobody even responded !!!!. So sad as we used to love staying here so we lost our 2nd night stay that we had paid in advance.

Adequate for one night but didn’t like lack of staff around
Didn’t realise breakfast was in the room nicely presented in basket , good there was a fridge and proper milk ,yoghurt and fruit Found the room very warm , quite a lot of noise from pub and outside Didn’t know until I checked in that property was unattended during the night found that rather unsettling as a female solo traveller i was not aware of any other guests but there were doors shutting in early hours
Please refer to comments above and also no one around when I left about 10 am hadn’t been told what to do with key but found key box when I let myself out
