  Amazing location does not counter negatives.

  Undoubtedly the Capital is in a very convenient location for shows, transport and restaurants. BUT: there were certainly negatives: no phone in the room to contact reception. Their suggestion, come down in the lift or find the hotel’s number and ring, work through the menu till you get reception. Want to order a drink to the room? Scan the QR code, order from the menu then again provide your email address, post-code etc,etc, or ring reception ( following the previously mentioned process) and wait 25 minutes for delivery. Want to watch free to air normal TV channels? Sorry we don’t have those. There are lots of foreign services to view. Or their solution? — on your own device, down load 9 Now, and 7 Plus etc, from the Ap Store, then scan the QR code on the TV to cast from your phone to the TV!!! How easy is that. Bathroom: a shower screen that remain 20 cms off the ground so water spreads all over the bathroom floor— which is a bit unfortunate as there is nothing to put your clothes on so they get wet. Nor is there anywhere but the floor to put your toiletries. Even the toilet doesn’t have a lid. The bed— beautifully comfortable. The pillows- not so. I have never seen bigger, more fully stuffed pillows- great for watching TV ( if you can) but not for trying to sleep. Surely 2 bigger and 2 smaller would cover most preferences. No cupboards, only 2 hangers, one shower went from scalding to freezing,— I could go on. Let me finish on some positives: I mentioned location, staff were very helpful and pleasant, breakfast while continental was very adequate and the room was clean and attractive.

  Staycation

  Check-in was fantastic. and working part of the EVT Group, it was a blessing to experience the hotel from a guest’s perspective. We stayed over the long weekend and attended The Lion King, is a must watch and which was conveniently located right next door. The hotel was stylish, comfortable, and full of character, with plenty of little hidden gems that made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience and I would happily stay again.

  Beautiful boutique hotel

  Stayed overnight while watching The Lion King, and the hotel couldn’t have been more convenient—located right next door. We were in room 211, which was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with a fridge, coffee/tea amenities, and a stylish, functional layout. I especially liked the little desk nook—it made the space feel thoughtfully designed. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés right at your doorstep, which made everything super easy. Our package included breakfast; the dining area was clean and offered simple options like danishes, yoghurt, cereals, and breads with spreads—exactly what you need to start the day. Check-in was seamless with the online option, and security felt very solid throughout the stay, with keycard access required for entry. Great hotel overall—I’d definitely book again & staff at reception were very friendly and polite

  Short city break

  I arrived late morning but was able to check in straight away which was much appreciated after an overnight flight. The location was excellent, room was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

  the capitol hotel, sydney. excellent.

  the check in process was so smooth. the front desk person, i believe her name is “lynn.” not too sure, but she is from argentina. absolutely professional. gave us helpful info about places to visit in sydney, and where to buy reasonably priced souvenirs. never too busy to help. all the other staff members, including the maintenance gentleman. not sure of his name, but i believe he is from india. always pleasant when we saw him. also the cleaning ladies. such a joy. hotel is located in the haymarket district. i believe they called it thai town due to all the thai restaurants, along with other asian specialties. hotel is steps aways from the tram, and a mall is about a 15 minute walk. uber is super reasonable for the u.s dollar. hotel room was just the right size for my partner and i. only issues which are not a big deal, i wish the windows opened, and more tv stations. otherwise our visit was great thanks to the exceptional hotel staff, especially “lynn.” we will definitely return. very happy here.
