    Wij wandelden 2 etappes van het Derwent heritage pad en dit hotel lag tussen ons begin- en eindpunt.

    De ontvangst en het verblijf. Het diner was ook heel goed, maar prijzig

    Excellent food, Excellent staff big shout out for Kelly who looked after us from the 1st minute we arrived and also the lady that sorted breakfast.

    Check to see if you are offered Room 7! No heating and expel air on all night!

    Cosy old fashioned pub. Wood burning stoves. Have stayed at The Chequers a number of times. Very good food.

    Main issue this time was heating in room and expel air fan in bathroom. Radiator didn't work, although told it was on a timer. It never came on. Expel air in bathroom was on all night. Room 7, so bear this in mind. I couldn't sleep. Receptionist/waitress at payment didn't seem bothered to be honest and said 'there's a heater in the wardrobe'! As if I should know about that! Not good enough and didn't like the attitude. Kind of put me off staying there again.
