NO PARKING IS AVAILABLE & THE FLOOR IS COAL BLACK & FLAKING. THE LOCATION AND COUPLE WERE LOVELY
The couple were extremely nice and it's a shame to have to give such nice people a low but honest score. The location in their secret garden is wonderful and the position in the town ideal. The bed is springy soft...my partner liked it, my back didnt. Just a mention.
The flooring was horrendous, not fit for purpose, just not something you can or should have to work around. The sooty man-made textured top coating of the slate tiles is flaking and rubbing away, as soon as any drips or splashes of water touch it. Bear in mind there is an open ended shower and some degree of water splash is inevitable. I wondered what the black flecks and smudges were, on the white bath mat as i was getting dry! I rubbed the floor around the shower with a wipe, thinking the floor was dirty, and the wipe was a million times worse, as black as coal. The floor is impossible to clean, a total pain and I ruined the inside suede sole of a pair of sandals, that I have had for years, and am unhappy about this to say the least. Our feet were as black as coal. We needed to re wash and thereafter step straight into shoes and keep them on all the time indoors....something we never do. The floor needs sealing, covering or replacing. I sympathise, as whoever sold these tiles, ultimately caused the problem, they will have been laid down in good faith. I have photos of these awful tikes, ive never seen anything like it before, strange. For £95 a night this is not good enough. Also there were numerous celler/ cannibal spiders around the place, a lot actually, i disposed if a few. Three in the shower alone and a few more in the bathroom. Creepy horrid things. I have no objection to our lovely indigenous spiders, but these things hand around in corners and move little, so they had not been removed/ cleaned away. Also this property does not have the parking that it advertises and should not use the big icon button, in the 'offered features', indicating that it does! Every town or village has payable car parks or fields.....this does not constitute 'parking available' or every booking.com property could use the parking icon!
