Fine but not special.
A great location on the edge of Coniston Water and just a short walk from the village. The FEW staff on duty throughout our four day stay really tried their best but were clearly under pressure to serve the volume of customers to the extent they appeared overwhelmed at times but remained positive. The hotel is ok overall but is a typical 'group' type hotel which lacks the finer details, see below.
We were a party of eight and collectively felt the staff were being let down by the hotel parent company management, as there were clearly never enough staff on duty, this resulted in the finer detail being missed, for example, cold plates and lukewarm warm meals on our first night, dry white bread served as opposed to sourdough as stated on menu, unwilling to serve tea and coffee at 9.30pm stating the machine had been turned off!, no sirloin steaks on more than one evening. Overall very 7/10 due to corporate business model. Inn Collection are lucky to have the loyalty of the few staff that are working hard for them.

Prachtig verblijf aan het meer.
Het buitenterras was heel fijn. Vlak bij het water en bij de schapen. Ruimte voor kinderen en honden
Het eten was heel traditioneel en van gemiddelde kwaliteit. Ontbijtbuffet was goed voorzien. Genoeg keuze naast full English.

Overall we had a lovely stay and will be returning on our next lakeland visit.
The location of the hotel and the lake views from the rooms. The hotel was very clean in all areas. Well done to all of the staff.
Bar and restaurant understaffed. Some food came out luke warm rather than hot.
