Felt Like a True Home Away From Home
We had a wonderful two-night stay at The Croft over the August Bank Holiday weekend. We originally booked for four people, although unfortunately two of our party couldn’t make the trip in the end. From the moment we arrived, The Croft really felt like a home away from home. It’s conveniently located close to Cardiff, Barry Island and Cowbridge, while still being set in a beautiful, peaceful rural area. The surroundings are calm and relaxing, with some lovely walks right on the doorstep. The hosts provided very clear and helpful instructions for finding the property, which made arriving nice and easy. One of the first things that struck us was the spacious driveway, which comfortably accommodated two cars. Our host, Ian, also came to welcome us personally when we arrived and came to say goodbye when we left, which was a lovely personal touch. He had even thoughtfully left a bottle of milk in the fridge for us — such a small gesture, but very much appreciated. The home itself is lovely and very spacious for four guests, with everything feeling well thought out and comfortable. The bathrooms in particular were stunning — beautifully designed and finished to a really high standard. We had a fantastic stay and absolutely loved our time at The Croft. We would definitely recommend it to others and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.
The only issue we experienced was with the Wi-Fi connection to the TV. Unfortunately, the connection was very poor and this was quite a nuisance, particularly as we had been looking forward to having a cosy night in and watching TV. We did try contacting the owners for some help, but unfortunately didn’t receive a reply. We completely understand that it was late on a Sunday evening during a Bank Holiday weekend, so we appreciate that it may not have been possible for them to respond at the time. However, it would have been nice to have had the TV working reliably. Aside from that, we had a lovely stay and really enjoyed The Croft. It’s a beautiful property in a peaceful setting, and we would happily return.
