Nice hotel ruined by lack of concern for customers

Lovely property, stylish with charm, waiting staff friendly and helpful, food good.

Complete lack of communication. Just a tiny note at the bottom of an email about the access being blocked by roadworks leading to an hour wasted following google as instructed. Four phone calls unanswered. Only when I arrived did they tell me there is a back entrance to the carpark. Total lack of understanding. And then being corralled into the carpark at 3am because of a false fire alarm. Lots of disgruntled customers who would have appreciated some understanding words from the management. Such a pity as the hotel is lovely, the junior staff are lovely, but I wouldn't stay there again.

    Very nice old hotel

Very comfortable bed and pillows and good breakfast

The constant fan/pump coming from next door area near to our room Roe. The fire door I shut twice next to our room. I looked in to check before shutting it and was obviously a staff bedroom 🥹 should not have been open at all when not inside or outside room
