The location was really nice, private and peaceful even though Norwich city centre was only 20 minutes drive away. We enjoyed the freedom of being able to come and go as we pleased. They were accommodating when we asked if we could arrive later than check in time. The information booklet was informative. The skylights were a nice addition. Lots of facilities, especially for children. The kitchen was fully equipped with electrical appliances.

The place needed a better clean. We had to wash the kitchen crockery and utensils prior to using them as they appeared dirty and some were in poor condition. Several dead insects and large cobwebs were found around the lodge, which is to be expected with the environment. However, too many had accumulated prior to arrival. A double sheet or blanket would have been useful as the quilt was too thick for summer, and the only other option was 2 very small blankets. The cooker did not have any visible settings on it. A simple picture or manual would have been helpful.

One of the best holiday stays ever: beautiful, tasteful, stylish, spacious accommodation, superb, high-end everything, professionally run with kindness and thoughtfulness. Lovely lake and its wildlife. Nice private patio area, with comfy chairs. Fascinating and inspiring history of the farm. Maps and books especially welcome. Pole position for visiting Norwich and other Norfolk gems.

Only drawback is the whooshing sound of the A47, depending on wind direction. Usually hypersensitive to noise, but after the first day tuned it out. You don't hear it at all inside the barn, which has double glazing and high-up skylights for ventilation.
