  Bed bugs in the room and the owners don’t care! Avoid if you don’t want to be bitten

  The leisure facilities are fantastic; we did actually have great fun whilst we were there, the problems came with the sleeping quarters being infested with bed bugs

  This house has bed bugs and the owners are refusing to do anything about it! 8 out of 14 of us all developed nasty bed bug bites within a day or 2 of staying here. I reported this to Booking.com and sent multiple pictures of the bites, who informed me that the owner refused all accountability, refused to accept that the house could be infested as they “deep clean it”, and said that because we reported no issues whilst we were staying there for 2 nights that it wasn’t their problem. They even had the cheek to suggest that if there were any bugs, that we had brought them with us! It’s common knowledge that bed bug bites can takes days to appear and we didn’t inspect the beds with a microscope on arrival; we just assumed the place would be clean, which it clearly wasn’t! I’ve never experienced bed bugs before and never had this kind of issue with a holiday let, so it caught me off guard. Each party member came from a separate household, all sleeping across different rooms in the property… this wasn’t the annual gathering of the bed bug society, this was a respectable group from hygienic households… I had the double room to myself and my mattress was flipped upside down on arrival, with the sheets and covers all scrunched up underneath it, which I thought was odd at the time, and now understand that clearly the hygiene of this property is not taken seriously. My bites are still painful and itchy 2 weeks later. They are now refusing to respond to Booking.com any further, have not apologised once and have not stated to me or Booking.com even once that they will get pest control around to investigate, which means that this house will stay infested! Do not book here unless you want to get bitten and risk bringing bugs back to your own home. I can see a fiery response against another previous review; perhaps you could explain in your response to me why you’ve not bothered to book pest control and inform Booking.com that you’ve done so?

  My family is very upset; the hotel was too expensive and offered very poor value for money.

  There was nothing that satisfied me!

  Hello Max, When we ordered the bnb, the pictures are very different to what we have seen. The bathrooms have no bins, and the handles fall right off. There is no freezer so we can’t keep food safe which is a cause for food poisoning. The WiFi here is extremely weak and we have to wait around 2-3 minutes for messages to send. The showers are very small in width and length so there is no room to move around in the shower. The shower heads are excruciatingly short and most kids and adults complain about hitting their heads constantly. All of these flaws were not included in the description or in photos so we had no idea these things would happen, if we had known we wouldn’t have booked this bnb.
