Had we not had the problem with the room we would have been satisfied
Location excellent for the visits we wanted to do. Bar and restaurant excellent
Room was not what we had had specified on our booking - we did not want a room designed for disabled visitors with a wet room that had a minute wash basin and nowhere to put washbags etc and no storage for clothes in bedroom. Also it was in the car park apart from the main building with a door that opened straight into car park. We raised this immediately with the receptionist and again the following day with the manager. We were given an acceptable discount on the price of the room on checking out but were not as comfortable as we should've been during our visit.

Very comfortable stay with some nice touches of comfort
The small touches in the room, e.g. drinks, quiet lounge was unexpected but mist welcome. Being shown to our room was a nice touch. The full breakfast was presented very nicely

Mid week trip
Everything location staff and food. If I was going to be really picky I prefer to have a fresh pot of tea served, not a jug of warm water. Giles was brilliant and so welcoming. Can not wait to stay again. Never asked his name but the Irish gentleman on morning check out was great as well. At dinner we had the battered haddock and chips. We know our fresh fish as we often travel 5 hours to Fleetwood for fresh and this fish was good good and the batter and chips. Oh I could go on

Second stay and dinner here, there will definitely be a third
Beautifully restored old coaching Inn. Well furnished rooms - although some are quite small, we found paying a little more for George was worthwhile - it is great. Friendly well trained staff are welcoming and the restaurant is excellent
Nothing, but expect the quirkiness and steep stairs of a historic building

Excellent breakfast plus added extra touches to the room made it feel special. Lovely and quiet, slept really well
