    Unacceptable conditions and aggressive owner – Had to leave early

    On the positive side, the female staff working in the restaurant were very nice and friendly.

    I had to cut my stay short at The Happy Bird B&B after just a few nights due to serious issues with the room and the owner's behaviour. The room had visible mold on the walls, which was particularly concerning in the humid and hot climate of Hoi An. I needed to keep the door and window open while running the AC for proper ventilation, but the owner entered my room without permission, stood very close, and aggressively threatened to throw me out if I didn’t keep the door closed. After I started filming him, he changed his tone and agreed to refund the remaining two nights. However, this agreement was not honoured. Booking.com was kind enough to provide a travel credit instead of the promised refund by the owner. The combination of poor room conditions (mold) and the owner’s unprofessional and intimidating behaviour made the stay feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I do not recommend this property, especially for solo travellers or anyone sensitive to mold/allergies.
