The waterfront site was good. Well landscaped. Bed was comfy and room was clean. Great breakfast.
When we checked in, the front desk person asked, "Did someone call you and tell you your room was below the kitchen?" That meant footsteps and banging starting at 5:50 am each morning; impossible to sleep past 6:00 am. Of course, no one had called us, nor did the hotel message us through the Booking.com portal. We had booked 3 months in advance. No effort was made to relocate us during our stay as the hotel said they were 100% booked. But this is a place where guests stay only 1 or 2 nights, so the reality is that the hotel didn't want to disenfranchise another guest by placing them in the substandard room. They already had us on the hook for 5 nights so we got a "tough luck/too bad" routine. I did ask one of the front desk agents if we had received a discounted rate at time of reserving to compensate for the A5 under-the-kitchen room assignment, but he said we were paying the regular posted rate. My theory is that the hotel sells this one substandard room (A5) through Booking.com and just gives the Booking.com customer the brush off when the customer complains about the 5:50 am wake-up call every morning.

Location, the grounds and the amenties.
Lack of onsite food besides breakfast, which was an upcharge for a expensive splurge and stay. As well as having a full bar and room for dining, but waiting for staff at the front desk to be able to come make cocktails from a menu, as if learning for the first time. This place would do much better if they dedicated a chef to scheduled dinners, and offered some type of light snacks and appetizers during the day, with a dedicated cocktail and drink expert. That would elevate the experience.
