Peace and quiet in a historic setting
What an absolutely wonderful and unique stay in a very historical place! "The Inn" at Katrine Steading was such a cosy little cabin, and had everything we needed. The location is wonderful, and we fell asleep to the sounds of crickets and frogs. Can also say the place was exceptionally clean. Even though it rained almost the whole time we were here, we were able to enjoy ourselves.
The open fireplace was nice but small. We brought our own wood and axe, but as the grate is small, we couldn't get a really hot fire going for a big log. We did find that the fireplace smoked a bit as you couldn't get it super hot -- and it didn't heat up the room too well. It's definitely more of a fun little novelty. So unless you really want to have a "traditional" stay, rely on the modern convenience of A/C. Also just be aware that you will need to clean up the fireplace yourself before you leave and wash up your own plates, cups, cutlery, etc.

Beautiful historical adventure
Beautiful historical place took us back in time having the history book in the room was a added bonus was able to learn the history and actually see it in person was close to a wedding we attended over the weekend would highly recommend
Limited phone reception wifi was available so wasn’t so bad
