Unique Historical Stay in the Heart of Detroit

Bel endroit, mauvais hotel
Sa situation près du musée, dans une petite rue calme avec d’autres belles maison dont celle d’en face, très intéressante
Accueil minimaliste, obligation de monter sa Calise à l’accueil puis de la redescendre et de la remonter car notre chambre était dans une autre maison, la préposée a aidé la plus âgée de nous 85 ans mais pas moi 77 ans. Le confort collectif : une machine à café mais pas d’eau chaude disponible pour un thé ou une tisane Petit déjeuner nul : une étiquette annonce que le WE il y a des scones et des muffins frais. Lorsque nous en avons demandé on nous a répondu que tout était sur la table. Un plat était vide à 9h, il y avait quelques pains au chocolat et quelques pâtisseries au fromage (et non aux pommes comme nous avions pensé), de mauvaise qualité. C’etait tout : pas de pain, encore moins d’œuf, bacon ou pancake. Je veux bien que l’on opte pour un petit déjeuner continental mais orange pressée et pain auraient dû être offerts. Surtout au prix de la chambre. Personne ne nous a parlé des 5 maisons qui composent l’hôtel. Dans les deux où nous sommes allées, la décoration etait réussie. Personne ne nous à signalé la présence, en face, d’une maison exceptionnelle, chef d’œuvre de la Shingle Architecture : la Charles Lang Freer House construite en 1892 par Wilson Eyre.

Staff was pleasant.
Not clean or kept up. Cobb webs on ceiling and curtains. Stains on old carpet and bathroom wall. We were unable to control the air conditioning because there was a lock box on it. We were told there would be light snacks and fruit in the morning and there was none. Very disappointed!

Gezellig huis, voelt vertrouwd
Leuk oud huis met mooie details. Gratis koffie, thee en fruit voor de gasten.
Het stopcontact in de badkamer werkte niet. Het bed was kleiner dan verwacht, dus lekker knus 🤭 Je moet wel goed trappen kunnen lopen met je zware koffers, wij sliepen helemaal bovenaan, dus veel trappen!

Great Night!
Loved our room and a great night's sleep. I would stay again. On a quiet street but convenient to College campuses and restaurants.
