  Mixed feelings but we ultimately had a good, relaxed time

  Charming old style house, set back from the hustle and touristic parts of the city. The view is simply stunning, with lots of birds and monkeys visiting. There were some leaks because of the monkeys jumping on the roof but that was not a problem at all. The hosts kumari and kushan are very responsive to requests and helpful with information. Kushan helped us book taxis and kumari was very prompt in cleaning the pool. One evening the monkeys came and had a good swim, it was so much fun watching them have a wonderful time! Kumari came over to clean the pool the next day post monkey ablutions, and my parents got to enjoy some time relaxing in the water. Maduka who lives next door has a tuktuk which was very convenient. He and his friend Mujeeb took us around sightseeing and were very helpful with information and recommendations. Bonus was Maduka's little dog who would trot up to greet us when we came or left from the house 💜 Overall we had a good time.

  The description was misleading - it said 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Actually the main house has 2 bedrooms, with a couple of beds at the ground floor entrance of the house that was the third 'bedroom'. Only one bathroom in the main house. The other bedroom and bathroom are in a cottage set apart from the house, we had to ask for access to the second bathroom as we were a family of four adults, and sharing a single bathroom was simply not possible. The second bathroom is difficult to access at night. The pool is a small plunge pool, that's mentioned only in the fine print. Was initially disappointing but we made the most of it and spent time in the pool. While the place was generally clean, there were cobwebs in the crockery cupboards and chipped and stained plates and bowls. We understand maintaining a house like this is hard(er) in the monsoon. The host tried to stay overnight in the cottage the night before we were to leave. We would have preferred to be asked first if the host could be in the cottage overnight because of limited transport over Sunday and Poya holiday. She understood our concerns and need for privacy and didn't stay over, finally. Both Kushan and Kumari are warm and helpful and our overall experience was a good one. We appreciated the prompt responses and suggestions. I'd be happy to book here again but would ask specific questions or make requests in advance.

  Ein beeindruckendes Haus in toller Lage mit viel Platz ideal zum Entspannen, abseits der Stadt.

  Ein unglaublich großes, ursprüngliches Haus mit toller Architektur, offenem Konzept und wunderschöner Aussicht ins Tal. Besonders schön war die Atmosphäre am Morgen mit Vogelgezwitscher und angenehmen Temperaturen – sehr natürlich und dennoch großzügig und komfortabel. Es war ein perfekter Start in die Reise.

  Der Pool ist eher klein und eher wie eine Sitzwanne zu sehen. Die Lage ist recht abgelegen, sodass man für Besichtigungen wie den Zahntempel ein Tuk Tuk benötigt.
