Location was great, view amazing, a little over priced d/t inconvenience of limited pool seating and no bathrooms cl

My stay here was great overall! The rooms were extremely clean, the property is absolutely beautiful, and the scenery, food, drinks, and overall atmosphere were breathtaking. The property has so much beautiful land and space. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend the hotel.

My only real disappointment was the pool area. For the number of guests this hotel can accommodate, there simply is not enough seating around the pool. It was surprising to see so many guests unable to find a chair at a resort of this size and price point. There also isn’t a bathroom conveniently located near the pool, so it’s quite a walk anytime you need to use one, which feels like an oversight for a resort pool. I think adding a second, adults-only pool with additional seating and a nearby restroom would be an amazing addition. It would give adults a quieter space to relax while also taking some of the pressure off the existing pool area for families.

    Great property on the lake

Beautiful property. Great service. Lots of fun things to do. We were there for three nights. We rented a pontoon boat but the best place to go by boat on the lake is the Lake House …and we were already there!

Wonderful stay at The Lake House!!!

This stay was so very wonderful! We felt very welcomed when we first arrived and felt very valued throughout the whole trip! When we first arrived we had our room ready and once we arrived it was so nice and tidy! We spent a ton of time at the pool and we want to give the pool girls/boys a very special shout out; they were wonderful! We got our s’mores kit and enjoyed some family time around the fire pits! We got a wonderful night sleep and then left in the morning! We went to check out and of course had to get something from the gift shop! The quality of everything in the gift shop was amazing! Thank you to all of the staff who helped us have a wonderful, relaxing, very well needed, stay!

A Lovely Property That Has the Potential to Be Exceptional

This was our second stay at The Lake House in less than a year. My husband and I first visited for our anniversary, and we enjoyed it enough to return with my parents and my sister and brother-in-law to celebrate both America's 250th and my 50th birthdays. Overall, we had another wonderful visit, but there were a few areas where the experience didn't quite match the premium price point. My husband had arranged for beautiful flowers to be waiting in our room. There were also charcuterie boards, a chocolate cake, and two bottles of sparkling wine that had been sent by friends to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, the accompanying card was addressed only to my husband and simply signed "The Lake House," so we had no idea the gifts were from our friends until they later wondered why we hadn't thanked them. It was a small but disappointing service oversight that could have been easily avoided by including the gift-givers' names. One amenity we'd love to see is complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning. At a resort in this price range, having to make coffee in the room or purchase it at the Library Bar feels like a missed opportunity to enhance the guest experience. Dining was mixed. Breakfast was outstanding—the Eggs Benedict were among the best I've ever had. The Pool Bar food was very good, although some menu descriptions were a bit misleading. At the Sand Bar, the oysters weren't properly shucked, and while the nachos were every bit as delicious as we remembered, the chips were mostly broken shards from the bottom of the bag. Dinner at Rose Tavern was inconsistent as well: my mom's lobster risotto was surprisingly small for the price, and my husband's ribeye contained a significant amount of unrendered fat. At these prices, we expected a more polished culinary experience. The highlight of the trip was our pontoon excursion with Molly. She was fantastic, and we highly recommend booking a cruise if you're staying at the resort. We also ordered pizza from Fire on the Water after a miscommunication with the concierge about arranging a catered dinner, and it was excellent. If you're visiting over the Fourth of July, don't let the lack of official fireworks deter you. The private displays around the lake are spectacular and create an unforgettable holiday atmosphere. We wouldn't have returned so quickly if we didn't genuinely enjoy it. Our hope is that the service, amenities, and dining continue to evolve.

    Not worth the money!

Upon arrival for a girls weekend, we found a used washcloth in the shower, a dirty slipper under the bed and the pool had an oily film. Also, the "lobster roll on a brioche bun" was actually a few teaspoons of lobster on a hotdog bun for a whopping $32! The only positive was the beautiful view. But I could get that standing in any parking lot and save $1000 per night.
