Five-Star Hotel in Name, but Certainly Not in Hospitalit
**Title: A Five-Star Hotel in Name, but Certainly Not in Hospitality** Our stay at The LaLiT New Delhi was an extremely disappointing experience, one that we would never have expected from a reputed five-star hotel. We checked in on 14 October and returned to our room (1507) late in the evening, only to find it musty, damp and claustrophobic, with moisture on the walls, no windows and a clogged washbasin. The beds were also unusually high, making it difficult to get in and out comfortably. When we requested a change, we were shown Room 2107, which was shockingly dirty, particularly along the floor edges. The next room, on the 19th floor, appeared cleaner but had been heavily sprayed with room freshener, making it unsuitable for us because of our respiratory sensitivities. All we were asking for was a clean, comfortable and habitable room — surely not an unreasonable expectation at a five-star hotel! What followed was nearly two hours of being sent from one room to another, between approximately 9 pm and 11 pm. Two women, aged 64 and 52, were left exhausted and frustrated when we should have been resting. Eventually, we were so exasperated that we asked the hotel to arrange a car so that we could look for alternative accommodation. Only then were we finally offered a Business Suite. Unfortunately, even this room had a leaking toilet. Despite informing the front office, the problem persisted and was attended to only the following night after we personally followed up. **Perhaps the most alarming aspect was that the internal telephones were not functioning throughout our stay.** There was no readily available directory or means of contacting guest services or the front desk from our room. We had to physically visit reception three or four times to get assistance. One shudders to think what might have happened had there been a medical or other emergency.

A pleasant place to stay in the Connaught Place
Friendly staff including deaf workers Nice room with a tub and big shower. Water was hot. Adequate breakfast
Need to change key card to the room too frequently. No food or drinks on sale in the pool area

Good, but could be better
Hotel is very nice, location also good, although we had transport difficulties due political protests at the same time as our stay, no metro was shutdown by government, Uber not reachable as internet was also shutdown. None of these are hotel issues though.
Bathroom don't seem to belong to a 5 star hotel, too many broken tiles. Restaurants are good but extremely expensive compared to very good restaurants outside the hotel.
