A great stay at The Lions Rest.

Well ... as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover ... the outside of the building and in the hallway of the close looks pretty run down ... but once we opened the flat door, we were quite happy with what we saw ... The rooms are really big and spacious - apart from the bathroom. The flat was really clean. There is plenty bus stops and the train station is nearby. Just down the hill takes you to town with plenty shops and takeaways. There's lots of mirrors on the walls and the pictures of the Lions was a great touch to keep up the theme. The host was easily contactable if needed. I would definitely stay here again if all the little bits were fixed.

The windows could do with a clean. The TV is quite small for such a large room .. we had to move the sofas closer to watch it properly. The bathroom door lock doesn't work so that ended in quite an embarrassing situation. The mirror in the bathroom is cracked so quite dangerous for little hands. The bathroom sink doesn't have a plug hole so we could see right down inside it, again, could be dangerous for little hands. The shower screen doesn't work, the water was going straight under it and it was also soaking the rest of the bathroom. It needs a shower curtain. There's also no extractor fan so the walls get wet. There was only enough towels for 1 person. No problem whatsoever with the kitchen. Loved the little lights in the kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom cupboard is really spacious, it has potential to be turned in to a little dressing room. A small table and chair would be great for us ladies to sit and do our make up. There's already a mirror, just nothing to sit on infront of it. A set of drawers would be a great addition in the bedroom. And lastly the bed .. it isn't the comfiest. I was ok with it but my husband woke up with a sore back.
