Out of all of my stays in Lake and Mendocino County, I will not be returning here or recommending it
I thought it would be nice to stay here. I’ve seen the location and thought I would try it regardless of the reviews..
I was charged $70 extra for two pets, pet friendly? After they had already scanned my card twice, they needed to run it again. I will be monitoring my bank statement. The staff was right by the main entrance smoking all evening, calling me by the wrong name, and the pathway was very uneven so the “luggage cart” tipped over. There is no pool or hot tub even though it is listed places. Even though I asked for an early check in and was told I could arrive after noon, my room wasn’t ready at 2:30, regular check is at 3pm. I was given the excuse about how busy they are. I came from out of town, and this location is quite rural. They could have contacted me and told me the room wasn’t ready, but instead I arrived and was told to go to town to grab a bite to eat, and my room would be ready when I return. I had to deal with loud banging from other rooms after 10pm, which I guess isn’t the resort’s fault. I woke up early to get to an appointment, was greeted by the staff having a cigarette in front of the hotel with her dog. It was not a pretty sight. Upon returning to gather my things and check out, I was told my dogs pooped on the walkway. My dogs are new foster dogs and aren’t allowed to be off leash. It’s the last thing the staff had to say, as they made no effort to communicate with me after, even though they were around my room and the office. If you’re going to charge a pet fee, fine. If you’re going to let you’re staff live on site, maybe ask them to smoke somewhere else besides the main entrance to your “lodges” and maybe sign them up for a customer service training. I spent almost $200 for a hard bed, a shack of a resort experience, and left with a negative attitude. I took photos of my room before I left with some of my personal items in the photo, so they can’t try to charge me again for my room. This location has been on my bucket list, I was really excited to stay here. This listing is not what it seems and I am very disappointed.
