Wonderful hotel spoilt by disappointing breakfast

We found the staff exceedingly polite and helpful. Our suitcase was carried to the second floor for us and our problem with the TV was looked into immediately. The room was large and beautifully appointed with an excellent view over the garden and the valley. We were impressed by the evening dinner and had high hopes for breakfast. That night we felt we had made a good choice of hotel and were seriously contemplating booking into one of the sister hotels in the future. These plans are now on hold as we found that the breakfast offer was rather on the mean side and when I mentioned this at checkout I was told that that was a company decision. I appreciate that the breakfast was included in the room price and the menu had a reasonable choice of hot meals however, there was no fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread/toast jam let alone pastries on offer. These little touches make for a full breakfast experience and were what we had expected and have always found in most hotels and certainly in a hotel of this quality. It may seem a small issues but for us it is a deal breaker.

What a fabulous place to stay. Superb location, extremely polite staff. We both enjoyed a lovely evening meal together and the breakfast was the best in along time which is local sourced. The room was fantastic with a view to remember- rolling countryside. Highly recommended and will come stay again

Such a lovely hotel and a great place for a relaxing stay. Our room was surprisingly large for three of us and was lovely and clean and had everything we could need. Really thoughtful and unusual decor really added to the whole hotel and the restaurant was lonely. Great food and a particularly friendly waiter. If you are looking for a break from the boring chain hotels and some fab food and service then it’s for you.
