Friendly service and great food ruined by terrible room

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Bar and restaurant area was lovely with a great vibe. Food at dinner and breakfast ti.me was brilliant

The room was stinking of dampness and you could see the mould all over the ceiling. Carpet outside the bathroom door was really wet. There was plug in air freshners in the room to clearly try and hide the smell. The room was also very noisy, you could here everything from the guests upstairs. The room really shouldn't be occupied until the dampness and mold issues are addressed, if I wasnt so tired I would have asked for another room or changed hotel altogether.

    Wonderful venue with fantastic staff

Staff very helpful and friendly. We had a 'character ' room which is housed in the main building, and was very comfy. Loved the complimentary tea tray with a generous lovely selection of tea bags and fruit teas/hot chocolate sachets. The food was delicious, especially at breakfast the eggs benedict with thick carved ham, literally the best I have ever tasted. After a rainy walk, I sat in a comfy squishy chair in the inn with my book in front of the fire, a drink and a delicious sandwich and people watched. A lovely break and the staff/venue made it more special.
