The owner Masa-san has been extremely helpful in making our stay not only comfortable but also interactive.
It was a restored heritage home in the very heart of the historical part of the town, and the owner was particularly helpful with everything.

Poorly equipped and dirty
There is two bicycles and Gujo Hachiman is a pleasant town even thought a bit touristic
Poorly equipped and dirty. The attached photos illustrate my points. The house is so poorly equipped that it is impossible to cook or eat there : there are no knives, no large spoons, no spatulas, no saucepans. In All, the cutlery are only 4 mismatched small forks, 4 small plates, 4 mismatched small spoons and one cook's knife. There are expired foods items in the kitchen but there is no tea, no coffee, no sugar, no cooking oil, no soi sauce, no rice cooker, no dish soap, no dishwasher,... There is no trash can in the kitchen, and only a dirty, liner-less bin in the bathroom. There is no washing machine. Air conditioning is available in only two rooms: the kitchen and one bedroom. It gets very hot in the other rooms—up to 32°C during our stay. The house is very dirty: there were grease stains on the stovetop, poorly washed cups, dirt in the kitchen sink, hair in the bathroom sink, grime on the light switches, and an empty toilet paper roll in the bathroom. The walls are very dirty and have holes in them. Somes furnitures are completely broken and should be thrown out. "check-in" last over 45 minutes to tell us unuseful trivial advices (how to turn on a lamp, how to flush the toilet, how to use the blind,....) and showing us a tourist map in a bossy manner, even though we said we had things to do. During our frequent stays in Japan, we regularly rent houses—whether renovated or not, including several in Gifu Prefecture—and this is the first time we have been disappointed.
