    Based in a lovely village with walks for dogs from doorstep (can walk to Pooley Bridge). Near to main busy route. Near to Penrith for shopping needs and other main roads to get you about the Lakes. Cottage has lovely character (you do need to pay attention on the stairs as very old and uneven), good space and ability to wash and dry clothes indoors.

    I have put some comments in the maintenance book you kindly provided.

    Lovely little spot

    Lovely authentic little cottage that we enjoyed. Well equipped and very cosy.

    Authentic included a sandstone worn staircase and downstairs bathroom. I wouldn't want either of them changed in any way. However my husband has had a knee replacement that has not healed well. If he had healed properly it wouldn't have been an issue but because he hadn't, maneuvering the stairs was quite difficult. This was definitely our issue NOT the cottages.

    We were cosy, warm and in a good location, which is all we needed.

    For our purposes, fishing the local rivers and shopping in Penrith, the location was great. Its a small village and a rural location with friendly neighbours and a very "cottagy" feel.

    Parts of the cottage are sadly rather tired.

    A very good sized comfortable cottage with some lovely original feaures. Great location. Attentive host.

    Just a minor note for people with mobility issues, the staircase is spiral, quite steep and uneven. Fine for the vast majority.
