Falls short of four star accommodation

Great location and public areas. Very comfy bed. Restaurant has nice ambience. Housekeeper Pip couldn't have been more lovely and helpful. Also, Matt in the restaurant was terrific.

Toilet was not clean when I checked in, there was a large brown smear of something on the wall next to the shower, and there was no milk for coffee - apparently there had been a replacement housekeeper for the day. The regular housekeeper, Pip, was terrific. Bathroom overall was dated and toilet seat did not fit the bowl, slid around. Cupboard door of vanity did not fit the opening. Closet doors in entry did not close properly. They offered room service but there was no way to order other than phoning on an outside line or walking to the restaurant to order. There was no table to eat on in room. Food in restaurant is very good, but the menu hasn't changed in two years and gets old after several visits. Staff in the restaurant were mixed. Matt couldn't have been more helpful. One young woman had absolutely no interpersonal skills, simply took my order and disappeared until she brought my food, again with no interaction. I had to flag down another young woman to get a drink. When I asked to extend my stay, I was told there were no rooms except a premium upgrade, which would be an additional $200 on top of the room rate I was paying. However, when I checked on Booking.com it showed two standard rooms available. When I mentioned this to the woman on reception, she said Booking.com was wrong as they were booked out for many days. Then about an hour later I received a text offering me an extra night at a 25% discount. The woman on reception told me she had rearranged bookings to accommodate me. Yet, I received the same text the next day as well. Doesn't make any sense if they were that booked out. The accommodation solicited direct feedback about my stay after I checked out, which I provided. One week later, they have not had the courtesy to reply. Overall, this place has the potential to be a real asset to this part of the south coast.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay with 100% chance of return.

Staff and accommodation amazing. Such a beautiful property with A1 restaurant.

Slight bogong moth problem. Not too bad. They have exploded in Canberra as well.

Make sure not to book during brown moth migration. Awful infestation.

Hotel is quite nice and the surroundings area is pastoral. I would highly recommend hotel if they hadn’t been experiencing a severe moth infestation. Make sure a stay isn’t during annual brown moth migration.

The hotel knew the brown moth infestation was ongoing. Staff freely acknowledged there was nothing they could do to stop the moths from getting into the rooms. I killed dozens of them & got out of my room by 7:00. I would have left except it was a rural area with many kangaroos so dangerous to drive at night. The hotel had a responsibility to inform prospective guests, but didn’t care that the rooms were disgusting. Finally, bathroom in room 12 needs to be updated.
