Very disappointing stay – not as advertised
The location is near Alton Towers.
We were extremely disappointed with our two-night stay at The Old Post Office. We booked this property for a special family trip to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday, travelling with our two-year-old, and unfortunately the accommodation fell well below our expectations. The cleanliness and condition of the property were very poor. There was visible black mould around window frames and in corners, dirty showers with staining and grime around the seals and fittings, unpleasant smells coming from the drains, and visibly stained carpets throughout the house, particularly on the stairs and living room floor. There were also maintenance issues, including a damaged curtain rail, deteriorating surfaces and windows that we were unable to open. One of our biggest concerns was the en-suite bathroom. The listing photographs showed an en-suite with a toilet, but when we arrived, the toilet had been removed and replaced with a unit. This was not made clear in the listing before we booked and was a significant difference from what we expected. The hygiene issues were particularly concerning with a two-year-old child staying with us. We expected clean, well-maintained accommodation, and the visible mould, dirty bathroom facilities, and stained carpets were not acceptable. To add to our frustration, £150 of our money is still being held as a deposit. We were required to arrange this the day before arrival in order to receive the keybox passcode, and the money remains on hold despite the poor condition of the property. This is particularly frustrating given the standard of accommodation we were provided with. This trip was meant to be a special family occasion, but the condition of the property caused unnecessary disappointment and stress. The number of issues went far beyond minor wear and tear, and the accommodation did not reflect the standard presented in the listing photographs. Be mindful that you're not getting what's shown in the photos.

No hay aparcamiento directo, pero se puede encontrar en los alrededores. Todo está un poco más antiguo de lo que parece en las fotos, pero sigue estando bien igualmente.
