    Short stay Kirkwall, Orkney

    Good staff that helped us with late arrival and held our bags for late departure due to ferry times. Excellent location in centre of Kirkwall. Good breakfasts with local produce. Clean comfy beds.

    Room was old fashioned and tired, bathroom needs an upgrade as toilet difficult to flush and noisy. Needs bedside lamps rather than overhead lamps where you need to get out of bed to switch them off. If 5'2" you cant reach the light switch.

    Lovely hotel, lovely reception staff, and evening meal, shame about the breakfast.

    Lovely lady on reception the day I arrived. Lovely evening meal kindly taken to my room

    Only a room with breakfast was available so I booked the room as I needed to find somewhere to stay. As my payment had included breakfast I went to the restaurant for breakfast. I asked if I could sit in a quiet corner but the staff said that this was not possible so I left without having breakfast.
