    Location, hotel staff very polite and efficient, lovely setting, excellent breakfast

    The Fat Abbot pub lets the place down. Menu hasn’t changed in years, food is just at best average. In busy periods slow service.

    Lovely stay

    Hotel was lovely. The room were big and clean. Spa facilities were very good. Local bus service to York 5 minutes walk.

    Amazing sized room for a "standard" room, breakfast was nice and there was a good selection, spa facilities were great and tbe location is perfect for countryside feel with only a short drive to the city centre.

    Clutching at straws here, the electric radiator was a bit finicky to use

    Nice big old building. Staff were all really friendly. Great value for money compared to some of the hotels in the area. Restaurant was brilliant

    It was a bit dated, but sort of to be expected with such an old building. Definitely needed a new kettle in room 27
