Lovely staff, especially the waitress who served me. Easy going manager too, and I didn’t realise breakfast was included so it tasted even better! I would recommend staying here after my experience 🙂

The best staff ever. Highly recommend.

Traditional old fashioned pub hotel. Decor aged but very clean. Very cosy but some of the seating could be made more comfortable. Rooms very good. Staff excellent in every department. Always working hard to make sure your stay is enjoyable.

The seating could be better in one of the bars but wouldn’t put me off visiting again.

The hotel was in a good location with amazing views.

The staff were not properly trained in hospitality. There was a distinct lack of ambience and no atmosphere what so ever. At dinner we had to ask for condiments for the table, which wasn't understood.Water was poured and left on the edge of the table and not served to the guest. At breakfast on our first morning, there weren't any cereals, yoghurt or fruit juice etc. set outWe had to ask for fruit juice. He said he thought he could find some 😪Decaf coffee was not available.I was told, they had run out.It was still not available the following morning. On the second morning, cereals etc. were set out in the bar not the dining room therefore we would not have known, had we not asked. Salt and pepper not on the table again. We never heard a good morning or good evening, from any staff member, during our stay. Also the restaurant was closed for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which we didn't know, until after we had booked. It was our Ruby wedding anniversary, so had to go out into the poor weather to another hotel restaurant for dinner. This turned out to be a much better experience .Wonderful food and marvellous service for HALF the price per night. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience and very poor value for money. We would never go there again.

A Wonderful Stay in the Lake District!

A charming and welcoming place to stay! The staff were professional, friendly, and always helpful. Our room was lovely, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, with a firm, supportive bed that ensured a great night’s sleep. The breakfasts were generous, varied, and absolutely delicious, while the dinner menu offered a wonderful selection of tasty dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place as a perfect base for spending a few days exploring the beautiful Lake District!
