Short staffed kitchen?
Great location. Modern lounges, bar and restaurant. Had to change rooms but efficiently dealt with.
Pre- booked a table for 6 on the Tuesday evening and were the first into the restaurant. Our order was not taken for an hour and, in the meantime, the restaurant had filled and all other tables had their orders taken and were served before ourselves. On complaining we were told the delay was because ours was a 'large' table. The food was delivered so late that family who had travelled from Wales had to leave immediately after the main course and miss desserts and coffee. If a pre-booked table for 6 is considered a large table and causes such a delay then the kitchen has a real problem. On the plus side the food was excellent and the service on the following evening was as expected. Breakfast was also excellent quality.

Grand Hotel by the Railway Station
The room was excellent. Although it is in the newer Kings wing of the hotel (formerly the offices of Capital Bank, if you are old enough to remember them) the room had been decorated with portraits of the King that the room was named after (Victor Emmanuel III of Italy), in a very elaborate style that nevertheless managed to accommodate all our modern needs of television, charging points and WiFi signal. Breakfast is a buffet allowing a selection of cooked English breakfast or continental-style cold meats, cheeses, pastries and fruit. We picked this hotel for its location, which is just across the road from the railway station, and a moderate walk from the city centre. Its architecture is also a noteworthy point, as this is a very impressive building. The hotel serves excellent and very reasonably priced evening food in the bar if you do not want the formality of making a booking for the restaurant, so we took advantage of that as well as enjoying some of their lovely selections of wine.
Nothing to improve on here.

Great stay
I loved the room it was very clean and spacious. It was in a great spot close to the train station. Staff where very helpful. If I'm ever back here I'll be staying here again. Great view.
It didn't have a fridge in the room. but I don't really mind.
