Perfect stop on the way to Hobbiton
The host provided breakfast supplies, which was great. The unit is spacious and clean. Beds are super comfy. The alpacas and sheep in the field next door made the stay extra special.

Super cool family fun
The Red Shed was so cool, having a pool table was amazing and the whole family loved it. How beautiful and safe the area it is located in was incredible and the ease of getting to all the atractions was so easy.
Having to leave.

Cozy stay in Matamata
Cozy open plan stay for family. Lots to enjoy including some lovely alpacas. Pooltable was a bonus! My first ever 10/10!

Peaceful and reasonably priced, but didn't like everything being in one room
The host was really lovely and happily brought us the extra things we asked for. Feeding the alpacas was fun. It is set in a peaceful area, but still fairly close to town.
We didn't expect it to be just one large room with all the beds in the same space as the TV, lounge chairs, dining table, pool table and kitchenette. The only separate room was the bathroom. We rearranged things a bit eg to put someone who snored at the far end, and to make the furniture gather around the coffee table. It would have been good to have more light in the kitchenette and more bench space or pantry space. Even though there was a hotplate and some pots there were no serving dishes and very few extra utensils, so it was too hard to cook any meals.
