  Disapointing. Not a real hotel.

  Its main, and perhaps only, real asset is its location, right on the main street of Valletta’s old town, within walking distance of all the major attractions and restaurants. Beyond that, it is a rather shabby little building with very little to offer as a hotel. There is no reception, no lobby, and no real facilities. Behind the street door, you find an The room is acceptable: clean, spacious, with a king-size bed, cold flooring, and good air conditioning. However, the bathroom is small. Hand held shower and clogged drain. Great and gelpful staff. From reception tomcleaning.

  It is not a 4 star hotel. Neither a 2 star. No hall. Just a door on the street leading to a small steep staircase taking you - and your luggage- all the way up to the third floor. No elevator (they say its being repaired but reviews complain about it since july). No service. Three poor fixed plate choices for breakfast. Your room is the only place you can stay in the “hotel”.

  Republic Boutique Hotel - the premium location in historic Valletta, Malta

  The Republic Boutique Hotel is absolutely in the heart of historic Valletta. We were guests for nine nights, so we feel qualified to comment! The receptionists, Angele and Alex, aren't merely professional--they are kind and concerned, and for my wife and I, they immediately became friends. When we found out after a long flight from New York that the elevator wasn't working (waiting for parts from overseas), Angele realized that my wife and I are older with mobility issues, she worked tirelessly to accommodate us by moving our room from the top 4th floor to the 2nd floor. Alex even came in on his day off to ensure our move worked out. This was a real challenge as this hotel is two years old, and only has 10 rooms. Angele and Alex would often make sure we were climbing the stairs safely, and looked out for us when we returned from visiting tourist sites. Other positives, in brief: The hotel is clean and modern, located in the main Republic Street, pedestrians only, near many main tourist attractions including the Archeology Museum and St. John's Co-Cathedral. Breakfast was filled with variety and served by the gracious and smiling Manoj. The housekeeper Niemala was efficient and also smiling...what a difference from large hotels. The Repunlic Boutique Hotel staff is truly family, and they became OUR family! There were tears all around when we checked out. PS WE LOVED MALTA. What history, beauty, and friendly people. Thanks Delta Airlines for your special nonstop direct flights through October 2026.

  The bad news was the broken elevator. It was a challenge for the hotel to get the parts. We were lucky we could be accommodated on a lower floor. The staff did all they could. But I do feel hotel ownership could have left a letter of apology in each room and offered a discount for the inconvenience.

  Stay was good apart from the noise and lift Alex was very helpful with the suitcases

  Good place to stay

  Excellent location in the center of Valletta. Room was decent size. Smart TV set with Amazon, Netflix and other services. Shower is big with multiple shower heads. Room has a terrace with hot bath. Breakfast was included in small caffe downstairs.

  Biggest issue is that elevator is out of order for month , according to people reviews. We had to walk upstairs to the top floor. Room closet doesn’t have enough space for two person.
