Lovely place in a great location

    Location, breakfast

We had an evening meal at the hotel When we went to get a table a large proportion of them either had previous occupants plates, glasses etc. on them and were dirty. The dining areas are not large (not a huge number of tables) so this was really noticeable and made choosing a table more difficult.

Lovely staff, Cosy room, good food… what’s not to like.

Location was perfect for our stay. The staff were welcoming and the hotel had a relaxed vibe that we liked. Our room was cosy and had everything we needed. Plenty of hot water and a decent sized shower too in the bathroom. Food was good and the portion sizes excellent and breakfast was substantial. The only thing that let it down was the coffee, I’m sure that can be fixed. Ripon is a pretty town and has many places nearby that are worth a visit. We would recommend this hotel.

The dining room was a bit soulless, unlike the rest of the hotel. The lighting was stark and the seating was not as welcoming as the bar area. Utilitarian is a good description, not somewhere to linger. Perhaps this is due to be updated.
