We loved our stay so much. The smithy was peaceful, comfortable, well equipped and we really appreciated our warm welcome. We've spent the last ten months travelling all over Cornwall staying in many places and both agreed this was our favourite stay. Thanks so much, we had a wonderful week.

A charming and peaceful stay with warm hospitality, let down slightly by a few maintenance issues.
We had a really lovely stay at The Smithy Cottage. The owners were extremely friendly (we even got to meet the horses!), and the welcome of jam and cream scones was a gorgeous touch. The front room with the fire was beautiful and cosy, the kitchen was modern and well laid out, and the back garden was lovely with peaceful neighbours all around. The bathroom was also a highlight — beautifully done, with very hot water and a great bath.
A few practical things let the place down. The dishwasher was empty of salt and rinse aid (even after we topped it up), and we were left with only one extra bin bag, so we had to buy more. The BBQ was not up to standard — very small, with a fixed, non-adjustable shelf. The oven started smoking when we cooked and set the fire alarms off. There were no matches or gas left in the fire lighter. The shower’s water pressure was unfortunately very poor — more of a dribble than a shower. And oddly, the cheese grater lid was missing. With these small maintenance and stocking issues sorted, it would be close to perfect.

Spotlessly clean lovely bathroom,very well equipped everything you need. The hosts were very friendly. Scone jam and cream in the fridge on arrival.which was lovely
There is a village pub 5 minutes drive but it is remote. The up side is its very quiet.

Perfect… apart from the British weather!
Perfect in every way. So comfy and spotlessly clean, everything to hand. It was quite off the beaten track but that added to the peace and quiet. scrummy cream tea waiting and lovely flowers. Great place for walking over the moors.

Cosy cottage
Cosy warm clean and bright a lovely place to stay
Settee was uncomfortable and the bed was a little too but this did not spoil our stay at all
