Nice location but run down and overpriced

It is in a nice location a short walk to a rocky beach and the building is an old charming pub

It was really run down - the bedroom was fine if a little small but the pub itself was really shabby. All of inside and out was dirty and scuffed. There were ugly signs all over the place, the whole venue needs a repaint both to the exterior and the bar. It is a big, old family pub, with the rooms priced as if it's a fancy gastropub. I would have been perfectly happy with the stay if it was priced at say £120 to £130 which is what it should cost, but to be charged £230 for a place in that state made it really disappointing.

Very enjoyable, other than my few negative comments above.

The room was excellent and the breakfast service was to a very high standard.

The car park was more than adequate, however, with my current hip problems I found its position and the ascent/descent from/to the hotel very challenging. Dinner was pretty average, made up for, to a degree, by the excellent breakfast service.
