  Very clean and enjoyable stay run by nice and honest people.

  I booked the Steamboat Inn about 2 weeks before our trip. There was an event going on so most the other places were booked up. When I say this place was awesome I mean, even if other places were available I'd still book this place! Its a cozy little house less than a 5 minute walk from downtown Jefferson. The house what great super clean and colorful. Parking was on the street and with how few rooms there were parking was never an issue, and getting there an hour before check in we were able to walk the property check the inside out, there were a couple cats outside that seemed friendly but apprehensive about people. The owners were the workers and greeted us personally when check in time came around and after checking in and walking around downtown we came back around 7pm to find one of the owners scooping cat food into a cup. He told us that there are 4 stray cats around the property, what there names were, and which one would let you pet him as long as he was eating, my girlfriend let him know she tried to get them to let her pet them but they wouldnt let her. Later that night when we got back from our ghost tour he and some other guests were sitting out front around a fire, and he had a half cup of cat food he gave to us to try and get the cats to like us! In the morning we had breakfast at 9am and he was once again there asking us what we'd like and talking to us like an old friend. The lady he owned the place with was very nice too, not as talkative but she, with a smile, cooked us a great breakfast and was just as friendly. The Steamboat in doesn't feel like an air bnb or a hotel, but more like your buddy's house you're staying at while youre on your trip. It was informal in a professional way that makes you feel like your not just a customer but a friend!

  Good value, very comfortable- would book again

  Lovely house with lots of nice thoughtful bonuses such as the 24/7 self-serve coffee bar, homemade cookies and wine in the evening. Bed was very comfortable. Convenient location. Proprietor very interesting and fun to talk to

  The lady who served the breakfast was a little off-putting but it may have just been her very dry personality / sense of humor. I had the Victorian room which was quite lovely with access to a nice porch that I partok of to enjoy my book in the morning good evening,but if you are a light sleeper you might not choose that particular room because the coffee bar is right on the other side of the wall from the head of the bed. The breakfast area is also right next to it. For most people this probably isn't an issue. And thankfully my cohabitants were all very considerate but I could see where that could be an issue.
