Advertised as a private villa, but attached to the owners’ house

We chose this property because it was advertised as a private, quiet and intimate whole villa, with the listing stating “The entire place is yours”. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. The accommodation is actually an annex attached to the owners’ house, where they live with their two children. The front and back outdoor areas are shared and regularly used by the owners, so we did not have the level of privacy we expected from a private villa. The outdoor shower, which we were told we could use, is directly in front of our bedroom and is also used by the owners. The bedroom opens towards this area, while the living-room has a window with no curtains or privacy covering. The owners also use the clotheslines in the back yard daily, including for their swimwear, while we were asked to use a separate drying rack in the front yard. The listing photos do not show the main house or the adjoining buildings, so the actual layout and proximity of the owners’ residence are not apparent before booking. This is particularly concerning as the Booking.com listing describes the building as “Detached”. The property is not particularly quiet either. Traffic is clearly audible even with the windows closed, and we could also hear the owners’ family from inside the accommodation. The access road is extremely steep, narrow and rough and difficult to negotiate by car. The house itself was clean and the view from the terrace is beautiful. However, we specifically chose this property over other options with a pool, breakfast or easier access to Parga because we wanted privacy and peace. That was the main reason for our choice, and unfortunately it was precisely what we did not get. We reported these discrepancies to Booking.com and provided photographs, screenshots and correspondence with the host. We were unable to reach an agreement with the accommodation. As a token of appreciation, Booking.com provided us with Travel Credits equivalent to 20% of the total reservation value.

Veryyy reasonable for the price
The hosters were very helpful and friendly . If you want any suggestions about beaches and restaurants the lady has some great suggestions for you. The house was vertically clean and had a big space . The balcony had an amazing view on which you want to stay all night. It was only 6-7 minutes from Parga center. Near there is a pharmacy , supermarket and a coffee shop .
The road was uphill and a little bit frightening at first 😅 but for sure you’ll get used to it the second time without problem .
