Tired and dated all round.
The location and view from our room. Some staff were lovely, unfortunately not all.
Firstly - this is not a 4 star hotel. Far from it. It is tired, dated, and desperately in need of an upgrade - this includes staff attitudes. We, my wife, 10yr old daughter and I, arrived 2hrs prior to check-in and were met with, "you can't book in yet". This was a fact we were very well aware of but wanted to store our luggage so we could do some exploring; we had to ask for this. When we returned at 8pm we got to our room to find we did not have the additional bed for my daughter that we had booked in advance. I returned to reception only to be met with quizzical looks but they eventually agreed to resolve this. Tired though we were, we didn't want to wait in the room so we went to the hotel bar and asked reception to let us know when the room was ready. We were told 20 - 30mins. After 50 I went for an update and was told it had been done therfore asked why we weren't informed, to be told they couldn't find us in the bar. I queried this, as it was a relatively small open area, and was laughed at! In the room, the additional bed frame was damaged, had "stuff" on it, and was forced into an area without considering other furniture (see photos). Otherwise, the room was dated and had rather odd patchwork type repairs: bizarre metal ceiling sheets, poor tiling repair in shower, no power points at bedside, air-conditioning didn't work, very cramped with extra bed, paintwork messy (see photos). In communal areas, all the hotel doors I saw had been damaged/scratched, floor level sign had been done with a matker pen. Breakfast was average at best, didn't feel like good quality. The ceiling in the breakfast area was also damaged, although it looked like there had been an attempt to repair it but left unfinished (see photos).
