    Old fashion style hotel with real staff around and all of them friendly and attentive. Excellent location both to drive out avoiding centre traffic and to walk to centre. The bed was fantastic, bar is open till 11pm. Also, serving little plates is a plus. Good breakfast and nice atmosphere all around.

    You can hear the cars in the road early in the morning..if you are a country person that can be a distraction

    All in all, if I had to be in Canterbury again, I would book into The Victoria

    Breakfast was generous, varied, well cooked and well presented.

    The two main meals l had were very generous but not very well cooked. On one evening, the fish was good but the potatoes and carrots were very undercooked, while on the second evening, my carvery choices were acceptable but the veg missed the mark!
