    Uncomfortable Interaction with Front Desk Staff

    Property being a long-standing one, could use some refurbishment, but we stayed here for the location, and no regrets there.

    We had an uncomfortable interaction with a female receptionist at The Westin Kuala Lumpur, approximately two days after checking in on October 17, 2026. She questioned us about our breakfast payments, suggested we may have been undercharged without clearly explaining the basis for this concern, asked about our card details, and questioned us about the staff member who had authorised complimentary breakfast for us on the third day. While I understand the need to verify billing and benefit entitlements, the manner in which this was handled came across as unnecessarily suspicious and highly unprofessional, leaving us feeling uncomfortable as guests. For management’s reference, the staff member was a middle-aged female receptionist with a fuller build and hazel eyes who spoke English. I hope management reviews this incident and addresses how such matters are communicated to guests. Apart from this interaction, our experience with the rest of the team was very pleasant. The concierge, doormen, and other staff members were courteous, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Their service was genuinely appreciated, and this isolated experience stood in contrast to the otherwise positive impression they created.
