  The flat was generally well set up and everything worked. The local area had shops and there was parking next to the flat. The living area was nice - comfy sofa, coffee table and TV. The cooker etc all worked well.

  I am allergic to plug-in artificial air-fresheners and, even after removing and putting it into the kitchen cupboard, was still affected by it. The boiler, which was next to the bedroom came on frequently (a few times an hour) all day AND night so my sleep was disrupted. The shower is electric and I was there in a heat wave so I do not know why it was on. The first time I washed up, I nearly burnt my hands as the water was so hot. The bedroom area could do with a surface to put luggage on. The bed was comfortable but the pillows need updating - one was lumpy and the pillowcase was inside out and the other was hard with bobbles that you could feel through the pillow case. The keys were in the flat so I arrived to an unlocked property and had to leave the keys in it unlocked. I was worried that someone could have come into the flat and damaged it or stolen stuff and I would be blamed.

  Main floor unit with parking

  Comfy and cozy place in great central location. Coffee press available for us Canadians. Some basic supplies provided and street parking available. Owners very helpful.

  33"c while we were in York and no A/C anywhere. We are spoiled Canadians.

  Shared accommodation not Entire home or apartment.

  The Decor and it was on ground floor so no stairs.

  The area looked sketchy. Dim lights at night with dark alleyways. The description is not accurate. It's a shared accommodation. The neighbour living upstairs met me to give keys and told me he's helping out the host. I only had the key to the space I was staying in and not the main front door. Later neighbour provided main front door key to be kept in main door, which means i can't lock door if i go out and take key with me or i could be locked out if neighbour assumes i am sleeping. I could hear people walking in and out. The main door is so squeaky,so i felt like i had to tip toe coming in and going outside to not disturb neighbour upstairs. After complaining to Booking.com, the host called me and was aggressive. I left the following day as I was uncomfortable. As a single female, privacy is key. The neighbour was a male. Very kind gentleman, but if you are not familiar with York and don't have connections there, this particular accommodation will make you feel intimidated. Even after leaving the following day and not completing my stay. The host Andrew asked me for feedback. My feedback was disregarded. The messages sent to me by host regarding my stay are misleading to Booking.com as he is trying to make it look like I completed my stay. Fortunately for myself, I was able to provide Booking.com with evidence and time stamps. The issue is still in the process of being resolved.
