    Brilliant view and location but the building and apartment need some TLC.

    The view from the apartment is fantastic. You can see Whitby Abbey ruins on the skyline as well as the sea/harbour and the town. The location is brilliant, only a short walk to town or the beach (although it's uphill coming back). I loved the twisted rope lamps in the living room and some of the decor - this looks like a work in progress. The kitchen was neat and useful.

    The Metropole (distinctive 19th century old hotel building) has definitely seen better days and the entrance to reach the apartments was a bit seedy and open to the public until you got through a locked door. The lift is small and rickety but we were dependant on it to reach the fourth floor apartment. I was worried about the fire safety procedures - the apartment has an upper floor for the bathroom and twin bedroom (reached by very steep stairs), which classes it as a maisonette but I don't think these would be reachable by ladder (the stairwell explains there is a fire escape from the fourth floor but there is no mention of this in the apartment). The decor in the apartment is a bit basic.

    Fabulous place ,confused about address.but once sorted was great .very quiet ,warm and cosy .lovely walk to to town 20 mins great got my steps in .definitely going back out of 10 .keep up the good work .2

    Clean spacious apartment over 2 levels. Well equipped, and just a short walk into town centre.

    Large flat, well located. Helpful host, who’d left clear instructions on where to park, key codes etc. Surprisingly quiet, despite the best efforts of the seagulls. Ideal that it had an en-suite off the main bedroom, plus an excellent shower in the main bathroom. On the 4th floor, so having a lift was a bonus.

    Struggled with the TV in the lounge, but 2 other TVs in the bedrooms, so not an issue.
