    Peaceful, beautiful, interesting

    The Windmill is almost at the top of Kalli Strata so lot of steps to climb, which can be tiring. But the view is wonderful and sitting on the terrace for breakfast absolute bliss. Aside from the occasional motorcycle, it is peaceful and a truly wonderful building, full of history and character and the old Greece. It has been converted very simply and some elements are a bit 'basic' but for me that was an essential part of its charm. It felt closer to being 'real'. And the couple next door were absolutely delightful - we didn't share a language other than lots of smiles but the left me several small gifts such as fruit and it was a pleasure to meet them. The Windmill is also just off the main road and bus routes so great for day trips.

    I would change anything except possibly some stronger glue to hold the shower head in place! I loved it! I found Symi main village very crowded due to so many day trippers - but fine if you enjoy a cold beer and people watching. It was much more peaceful first thing and in the evening and there are some fabulous restaurants (though not so good for vegetarians)

    Pernottare in uno dei mulini dell’isola e’ stata una bella esperienza con vista mozzafiato I signori sono stati gentilissimi, tutti i giorni ci portavano qualcosa da mangiare. Ci hanno proprio coccolati.
