Huge house, loads of facilities but needs money money spent on it to make it amazing.

The house is huge with oversize bedrooms, living areas & kitchen. The fire pit was great. Pool table room great. The bones of the house is amazing. Lovely large property secluded from neighbours and no noise issues to worry about on such a large property. The pool would be great in warmer weather.

So many great things about this property & the potential to be amazing with the amount of facilities available, which attracted us to the property to start with. This has the potential to be amazing & charge higher prices, however money needs to be spent to upgrade the house & facilities. The pool table has a tear in it, thankfully it didn’t cause too much of an issue for friendly/fun games. The spa wasn’t working and from the looks it hasn’t for quite a long time & there is no water in it. This was a huge reason for selecting the property & only advised a day earlier on enquiring whether it will be turned on after reading previous reviews. Firewood & a late check out was given in place however I would have thought that given there is a fire put this would be included anyway. There is a basketball ring but no basket ball, so I find this strange. The gardens and lawn area are expansive but need a lot of love. The front entrance isn’t grand at all like the pictures suggest. Kitchen is well stocked but knives are blunt and no sharpener could be found

Very nice and comfortable. Felt like home. Beautiful nature and safe place to stay.

We were expecting to have heated pool and spa. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations.

Great group getaway spot with plenty of character.

“Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at The York in Hartley. The property has a great atmosphere and was a relaxing place to spend time with our group. The location and overall experience were very good, and we appreciated the character of the accommodation.

There are a few areas that could be improved. The kitchen cooktop only worked with induction-compatible cookware, and not all of the pots and pans provided worked properly with it, which made cooking a little difficult. The air conditioning was also hard to control and the rooms became quite hot at times — individual room controls would make a big difference to guest comfort. General maintenance around the property could also use some attention. Despite these points, we had a good stay overall and would recommend it for a group getaway.”
