  Apartment was robbed, sketchy neighborhood, non-secure building door, and not being compensated.

  There were cutlery and pots and pans to make food.

  Someone broke into the apartment and stole my personal items (laptop, headphones, and other electronics). The neighborhood may seem alright on maps, street view, online reviews, and other reviews on the property itself; but it is not. My friends and I witnessed three young men harassing women outside the apartment complex, and they even followed her into the first-floor hallway to do bad things to her. My friends and I almost called the police, but her man had to leave his apartment and tell them to leave. The three young men stayed outside harassing other women. Also, the door to get inside the apartment complex is not secure, so anyone from the street can enter. This insecurity is reinforced by the apartment's location on the first floor and next to the insecure door. On the second night of our stay, my friends and I left to enter the city center for a few hours to grab casual drinks. We are certain we locked the doors and windows (we were especially careful with the windows due to the suspicious activity earlier in the evening with the three young men) because we already felt unsafe staying in the apartment. We then came back later in the night and realized we were robbed. I have lived in various different urban areas in the U.S., lived in London for two months at one point, and have vacationed to many European cities, and I have never felt as unsafe in an area and apartment as this one. Even before the robbery, this review would have been negative due to the neighborhood and the insecure entrance to the building. Even during the one night we slept at the apartment, I had trouble falling asleep due to not feeling safe and secure. Since then, the owner has not been cooperative in compensation, since she or he claims that there were no signs of forced entry. This apparently means we are owed no compensation for the stolen items and not even a refund for the nights we did not stay at the apartment. Save yourself the hassle and do not stay here!

  Had all the amenities we asked for.

  Curtains didn't close all the way and it is in the first floor so people walking by could see into the bedroom.
