On paper this should have been a perfect get away, let down by issues of a smoky stale smell
The facilities in the room were very good - mini kitchen unit. The standard of the fit and fixtures was high.
The room had a stale musty smell of smoke, when reported over the phone on arrival, to be fair, somebody was sent out who tried to rectify the issue with a tin of febreze (whilst we were out at a dinner reservation/theatre), we had opened all the windows earlier to try to help, but as it was a ground floor room - we had to close all windows on leaving for the evening. The bathroom door had dirt and stains on it, the bathroom floor had bleach marks on the lino. On opening the fridge flies were seen coming out. The kettle had not been checked and there was a black burnt mark in the base. There were also visible marks on the painted walls. We were promised that someone would report back to us after they had visited, but this didn't happen Friday evening - despite a chase message on the booking.com message, leaving us to wonder what action at that time had been taken. We had considered other accommodation, as we were told our request to move rooms was not possible. The whole experience spoilt what should have been a pleasant evening and led to unnecessary stress and worry. In a response back that came on Sunday there was a sarcastic comment of "Smell of smoke - clearly your efforts before our arrival must have done the trick as we couldn’t smell smoke" - I can assure you the smell, although masked, remained - all windows in the property were left open whilst we slept and whenever possible to help.

Awful. Only suitable for single person or a couple. Not family friendly at all.
Location a couple of minutes walk to the promenade and 30 minute walk along promenade to town centre and pier.
The decor was dated. There was not enough room between the bed and sofa bed to fully open the sofa bed. When I raised this issue with the property owner I was told to move the bedside table then move the bed over and then open the sofa bed. I think this is a poor response my son and I are on holiday which means we want to relax not rearranging furniture. The sofa bed fully open and bed move to the side would leave no room to move around so my son ended up sleeping on the floor. Second the flush handle was loose and by second flush did not work. The owner arranged for it Ito be fixed. But it broke again and we spent the next four days of our stay with cistern open and Malay flushing the toilet.
