  Please, Do Not Go Here.

  I liked nothing here. Yes, this is my second review. I will make it my last.

  I went to two different hostals, listings on Booking.com that are less than 10 mins. away from this place, that have legit ratings and reviews, it’s like night and day compared to this place. When you think about that expression, night and day isn’t a bad thing so where I’m coming from is, this place is horrible and unprofessional. In late June, the water was off in the city for four days. They did nothing, took care for themselves and told me to leave when I wrote a bad review while staying there, arguing that it was nothing they could do. However, I went to two different properties after leaving this place, that are 5-star, high rated, greatly reviewed places and they had water during that time. So that let’s me know, these people have no hospitality experience nor problem solving skills. Don’t go here if you want to enjoy yourself. Save your money. These people take life as nothing. This is not a business at all. Just a way to generate income and you’re being overcharged here, for nothing. They do not clean. Anything is broken. They do not care.

  Do Not Stay Here or at Tourist House Suites Otavalo

  Nothing at all. I would like to mention these people are overcharging tourists here and this place like their other location ‘Tourist House Suites Otavalo’ has false ratings and reviews maybe from people how do not care or only stay one night who cannot care enough to write a honest review. If you pay $20 to $46 a night here next year, you are definitely getting robbed because the average stay in Otavalo is less than $15 a night with way more service than these people provide

  Mold, mildew on the roof when you enter the door and in the bathroom. Dirt and dust under the bed and furniture. The sheets were not cleaned, the living room, the bathroom, the kitchen, was not cleaned at all. The oven does not work, the refrigerator does not work, the WIFI modem was old, had to be replaced, the washing machine is old and breaks, also the place was infested with insects. I had to clean the place and solve all these problems here by myself while the young lady that checks you in shows up late for any inquiry, mis-books stays and reservations, thinking she is doing a job with no staff here and also, your living with a elder as a grandmother that asks you to do her errands because this is not an apartment. It’s a guest house. The water was off through the city of Otavalo early July and these people offered no solutions. Instead, it was ‘I do not know’, ‘I can’t do anything’ , and ‘It’s nothing we can do’ while they left me at the house without water, turning the value on and off based off the elder’s needs and leaving to another place that had water. Once I became frustrated over a month of problems, I left a review and Alfredo, his brother, and the young lady that checks you in all mentioned I needed to leave lying and thinking they did all they could when they did not, telling me how I should behave, saying I’m disrespectful but Alfredo waves his finger in my face lying like a child that can’t wake up in the morning to a brother that does nothing for this ‘business’ per say through the young lady that checks you in that does not have any hospitality skills because she shows up late and does not respond but reaches out to you about things that are not important and after reading a bad review that hurts her feelings. Mind you, the owners live in Spain and have left there mom and family in a very disheartening state. Also, this place is linked to ‘Tourist House Suites Otavalo’ to where you are getting charged $20 to $46 a night! Cash only payment!

  Honestly, not the best like the reviews and ratings

  Otavalo is a great place. Very quiet, nice neighborhood. Very clean city with awesome views

  First off, I would like it to be known what I'm writing is as an honest review. Months before I came here, booking these reservations at certain times of the month, the lady that you can say is the front desk agent, didn't respond and showed me the beginning of a problem that was yet to come. When I arrived here communicating with the lady as far as checking in, she showed up late and when I arrived it wasn't known that I'll be living here at a family house with an elder as a mother and a grandmother and two other gentlemen. As soon as I checked in I saw that there was mold on the roof when you entered this room and it was mold on the roof when you entered into the bathroom. While the lady that checks you in is giving me a rundown about how things work, I also noticed that the floor wasn't swept nor mopped the bathroom was dirty, the kitchen was dirty, the oven does not work, it only has a gas lit stove and the refrigerator doesn't work. With that being said, the young lady that works here, doing more so front desk work for the idea of a hostel, was more so worried about me paying and not about the professionalism and the cleanliness of the living arrangement. For the next week I decided that I had to clean the place because no cleaning was offered. With that being said, I saw dust behind the beds under the beds, dust behind the refrigerator under the refrigerator and dust behind the oven under the oven. Also there was a leak in the sink to where water was dripping to where it fell behind the sink that allowed that to also have mildew. I checked in, in the early afternoon and found myself cleaning this place all throughout late night the first day I checked in. I’m seeing spiders and webs of a spider behind the bed and also how the floor was very dirty because it wasn't swept and mopped. Also mats that were used under the bed, had mold and mildew on it. Also they had dressers that had a large amount of dust under it.
