Nice location with quirky accommodation but needs to join up everything in terms of sustainability
Quirky nature of the property as previously a cow shed so steep winding staircase and limitations on space which required lots of innovative use of space. Provided bread, milk, coffee, tea and jam/marmalade.
Steep and narrow parking space with overgrown vegetation on one side and a retaining wall (2m height down to zero) which was damaged in parts. A night time light comes on to assist but had to drive in my Campervan as not safe enough to reverse in the dark really. Some noise which seemed to be from the next door plumbing. Jam/Marmalade was from Essex and surprised that local products are not being used as marketed as EV friendly so sustainability should be across the board. Local farm for milk/butter and local producer for jam/marmalade etc. would join it all up.

Good rural but convenient location but tricky stairs & disappointing breakfast
Pleasant, convenient, location. Clean and tidy throughout. Large bedroom and bathroom. Host fast to respond to queries and responded positively to request for earlier arrival.
Combined small kitchen and tricky stairway with bottom step about three inches from kitchen cupboard as in the photos. Immediately at the top of the stairs there's a door which requires opening with right had while left hand holds rope for balance. In my opinion this is a safety risk and I am surprised it is allowed even if the cottage is old and quirky. Breakfast which consists mainly of bread, preserves and cereals and drinks. Only stayed one night and bread was kept in the fridge but some was mouldy. Cereals are supplied in plastic containers with removable tops. Unless large amounts of cereal are disposed of after each guest the containers are simply topped up before the next guest's arrival. My Concern is that if the cereal from the previous guest are recycled you do not what those guests have done with it - maybe they had unclean hands in there.

Great little cottage for a short visit to Windermere
Close to Windermere town, good location if you have a car. Nice little place, cute cottage vibes. Basics for breakfast provided (toaster, microwave and kettle available). Access to the health club with swimming pool and spa was great, we used this a couple of times and had a lovely relaxing time in the spa pool and sauna there.
Definitely need a car to stay here, up a winding country road and parking was tight on a stony steep ramp, not the easiest to reverse down! Kitchenette was very cosy, space cleverly maximised at much as possible though. No draining area for washing up due to space and only one tea towel so drying up was a bit tricky.
