It's about a 10 minute walk to Sunzal beach - so in that sense the property is very convenient for surfing. That being said, there's very little in the immediate area of the hotel, and it's about a 25-30 minute walk to El Tunco. I rented a motorcycle, so that wasn't much a problem for me. When I was there there's was lots of construction; and there's also plenty of "banging" noise, which I think comes from something that falls out of the trees onto the tin roof of the rooms; that could be a problem for light sleepers. The pool is still under construction, so it was not usable. The room itself was nicer than I expected: it was stylish and clean, had a good good bed, comfortable shower, new TV, and a usable kitchen, with microwave, hot-plate and dishes. The Internet connectivity was good. Overall, considering the price, this was a great value.
